History of DDRC
The District Disability Rehabilitation centre Sangrur has been functioning since July 2003 in the premises of working women hostel near Red Cross Bhawan, Ranbir Club, Sangrur. Its collaborating agency is Indian Red cross Society Sangrur. The main emphasis of DDRC is to provide the Artificial limbs, Callipers, Hearing Aids, tricycles, Wheel chairs, Rehabilitation aids, appliances, therapeutic services, loans for self employment, counselling of Divyangjans, barrier free environment.
Functions of DDRC
- DDRS ( Deen Dayal Rehabilitation Scheme )
- Under this scheme the DDRC Sangrur provides services to Divyangjans to make them self reliant and confident . Provides Education to the Divyangjans , Helps them for their placement.
- ADIP ( assistance to disable persons for purchasing , fitting of Aids/ Appliances )
- The main focus of DDRC Sangrur is to provide Aids / appliances to Divyangjans

School of children with Autism
DDRC Sangrur with the help of Red Cross society Sangrur and an Ngo AEWS Sangrur runs a school of children with Autism . The staff visited their for physiotherapy and other necessities . DDRC Sangrur helps to organise cultural , sports, art activities.
